These advanced upgrade configurations are engineered to elevate the performance and capabilities of the MD 500E. Every Super E variant delivers a coordinated set of structural and aerodynamic enhancements that expand the flight envelope, increase useful load, and improve hover performance across demanding mission profiles.

Each Super E variant features extended main and tail rotor blades, a tail rotor gearbox extension, a modified tailboom, and new vertical and horizontal stabilizers.

Offered in two configurations—Super E20B and Super E20R—retain the aircraft’s lighter M/R gearbox and utilize either the 250-C20B or 250-C20R engine.

The Super E20B upgrade package delivers enhanced performance through coordinated structural and aerodynamic improvements while retaining the proven Rolls-Royce 250-C20B engine. Operators gain meaningful useful load and hover ceiling without changing engines.
