News Articles MDHI Announces 3 New Sales as Helitech 2003 Opens

DUXFORD, Cambridge, U.K., Sept. 22, 2003 - Even before it started, Helitech 2003 was a success for MD Helicopters, Inc. (MDHI). Just prior to the show's opening day, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Henk Schaeken announced three new helicopter orders.

MDHI also announced that it delivered a third MD Explorer last week to AeroCare of Lubbock, Texas, for emergency medical service.

The new orders include:

-- The Luxembourg National Police has ordered a twin-engine MD Explorer. The aircraft, slated for delivery in the second quarter of 2004, will complement the fleet of MD Explorers operated by the internationally renowned Luxembourg Air Rescue. The sale is being made through Helifly, MDHI's long-time distributor in Belgium.

-- MDHI distributor Fuchs Helikopter has ordered one MD 600N. The single-engine helicopter will be delivered before year-end to a health spa operating in Switzerland.

-- Eastern Atlantic Helicopters, MDHI's single-engine helicopter distributor in the United Kingdom, has ordered one MD 520N. The NOTAR system-equipped helicopter will be delivered to an individual owner/operator in the second quarter of 2004.

"Operators around the world want top-performing aircraft, and with MD products they get the whole package – high-performance, reliability and affordability," Schaeken said. "It's an extremely attractive combination."

Based in Mesa, Ariz., MDHI manufactures and sells a line of high-performance light twin- and single-engine helicopters, including the MD Explorer, MD 600N, MD 520N, MD 530F and MD 500E. Only MD Helicopters feature the patented NOTAR system for anti-torque control.
